Commonly asked questions by our prospective residents, their carers and families.

Where can relatives spend time when they visit?

This is you/your loved-one’s home, so visitors are welcome to visit in rooms or any of our communal areas. Visitors can also join us for meals and activities as you wish.

What are the visiting hours?

At Fairways we do not have any set visiting hours so that we can accommodate for all visitors to join us around their schedule. We also host regular events which visitors are welcome to join us for.

Can personal items and furniture be brought into the home?

Our rooms are fully furnished to ensure that you are not missing any of the essentials, but we also encourage our residents to bring in any personal items and small pieces of furniture that they wish. This is their home and we want them to be able to personalise it to their own tastes. We encourage people to bring any mementos that are important to them such as photos and personal treasures, pictures and ornaments.

Is there a choice of meals?

Dining should be an enjoyable experience and all of our food is cooked on-site by our in-house chef. We change our menus every week after consulting our residents about what they would like to be included and we also cater for any special dietary requirements to ensure everyone has a choice of meals they can enjoy.

What types of activities are put on at Fairways?

Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinators put on a full programme of activities including entertainment, group activities, trips, themed events, visits from the community and 1-2-1 activities. We take the time to find out about our resident’s personal interests and hobbies so that we can provide a full programme for all residents to enjoy, as well as encouraging them to try something new.

What happens when medical help is needed or a resident has a hospital appointment?

At Fairways, and as part of Care Plus Group, we have access to local GP’s, out of hours GP’s and Care Plus Group’s Rapid Response Team. We can also arrange transport for hospital appointments as and when required.

Do you have a hairdresser?

We have our own in-house salon with an experienced hairdresser who visits regularly.

Can babies and children visit?

Babies and children are welcome to visit us along with other visitors, we just request that parents/guardians ensure they do not disturb other residents.

Can pets visit?

Pets are welcome to visit us, we just ask that they are taken to the resident’s room so as not to disturb other residents.

How much does it cost?

The cost of living at Fairways will vary slightly depending on the chosen room and the type of care that is provided, if you would like to discuss your options and pricing please contact our Home Manager.
